Oils Used in Deva Luna Soaps - Earth Friendly and Animal friendly!!
Almond Oil - A nourishing and conditioning oil rich in protein.
Wonderful for itchy and inflamed skin.
Avocado Oil - A highly therapeutic oil with large amounts of
vitamins A, D, and E for healing and moisturizing. Also helps to regenerate cells and heal scaly skin.
Castor Oil - Acts as a humectant by attracting and retaining mositure
to the skin. Wonderfully emollient and contributes to the hardness of the soap.
Coconut Oil - A gift to soapmaking!! Adds moisturizing,
lathering and hardness qualities to soap. Used extensively in all-vegetable soaps for creating higher grade soaps.
Cocoa Butter - Obtained from cocoa beans and has an incredible chocolate
scent! Lays down a protective layer that holds moisture to the skin and makes it a good skin softener.
Glycerin - Moisturizing and a humectant. Glycerin is naturally
produced and formed during the soapmaking process. Glycerin is in all of our handcrafted soaps.
Hemp Seed Oil - High in protein and contains the most beneficial
of the essential fatty acids. Excellent for extremely sensitive skin.
Olive Oil - An excellent moisturizer and humectant. Packed
with vitamins, minerals and proteins. Attracts moisture to the skin and forms a breathable film that prevents loss of
internal moisture. Soaps with a high percentage of olive oil are known as castille.
Palm Oil - Works great in combination with other oils. Contributes
to a soap's mildness, hardness and cleans well. Palm oil is the vegetable oil substitute for tallow (animal fat).
Soybean Oil - Used as a non-animal alternative to lard. Contributes
to mildness and a stable lather.
Sunflower Oil - Contains valuable minerals, vitamin E, and lays
down a protective layer on the skin that holds in moisture.
